I wanted to dedicate this post to the designers, illustrators, and the whole Pura Vida team because I’ve always felt very connected to the graphic side of creative work.

I love seeing how typography, layout, and illustration can give a new life to a photo. This newsletter is one of those pieces I keep looking at again and again. And Michelle’s illustration for the project is incredible.

I think that admiration for graphic design also shaped my photography style over the years.
Very clean, very visual, very graphic.

Las salad jars de Sarah parecen pequeñas obras de arte. Cada una tiene su propia composición, su propio ritmo, su propia belleza.

Me encantó que este ebook naciera desde estos jars que cargan tanta historia.

📖Te dejo una nota curiosa:
los mason jars nacieron en Estados Unidos en el siglo XIX para conservar comida de forma simple. Con el tiempo se volvieron algo mucho más cultural… casi un símbolo del “healthy lifestyle” americano. Y hoy en día, todo lo que va dentro de un jar automáticamente se ve más bonito, más cuidado, más aesthetic.

Un poco loco, pero es así.

Sarah’s salad jars feel like little pieces of art. Each one has its own composition, its own rhythm, its own beauty.

I loved that this ebook was created around these jars that carry so much history.

📖 A little fun note:
mason jars were first created in the US in the 19th century as a simple way to preserve food. Over time, they became something much more cultural… almost a symbol of the American “healthy lifestyle.” And nowadays, anything inside a jar instantly looks more beautiful, more curated, more aesthetic.

Kind of crazy, but it is what it is.
