Photo Op is coming to a close, thank you.
Nine years ago, we launched Photo Op, with the tagline: You take the Photo, we create the Op•portunities.
Since 2017, Photo Op has been a space dedicated to giving voice to photography as a cultural force, where bold visions have taken shape as exhibition and editorial projects.
Today we are writing to announce the conclusion of this adventure. It marks the end of an important chapter in our lives - not only professionally - defined by an intense and passionate journey, built around project development and curatorial work as an opportunity for dialogue.
We have been guided through this path by the belief that, if it is true that an image is worth a thousand words, it is equally true that a word is worth a thousand images.
To the photographers who walked alongside us: it has been a privilege to welcome your talent. You entrusted us with your images and your stories - which were dreamlike, raw and courageous - and you allowed us to learn and discover distant worlds and times. Thank you for giving character and truth to our daily commitment.
To the curators, institutions and partners who believed in our vision and helped make our ideas tangible, thank you. Together, we have built a network of relationships and synergies that has become the true driving force behind Photo Op, creating vital opportunities for exchange between authors and the public.
The closure of Photo Op represents a transformation. Our skills, care, and passion remain alive, we are ready to bring them into new contexts and new forms of collaboration.
To everyone whose path crossed ours and who shared these vibrant experiences with us, thank you for all the Op·portunities.
With esteem and affection,
Marta Cannoni and Livia Corbò

Catherine Opie confronts Hans Holbein: the American artist held her first solo exhibition in Brazil, at the Museu de Arte de São Paulo Assis Chateaubriand - MASP with a selection of portraits that were put into dialogue with works from the MASP collection.
Thanks Catherine for sharing your stories and and your thoughts on photography and portraiture:
“Portraiture anchors me to a broader notion of humanity, it allows me to study people, not necessarily famous people. Using the traditional aesthetics of portraiture, to involve the viewer in the observation of the work, is a way of redefining the body...It is essential that all human beings are legitimised.
And the self-portrait is also a demonstration, a confirmation of my right to exist.
