Does “Triple Zero” ring a bell? 👀

The Rolex Submariner Ref. 168000 is one of the most intriguing transitional references in the history of the Submariner. Produced for a very short period in the late 1980s, it retained the key features of the 16800, including the sapphire crystal, quick-set date and Calibre 3035, while introducing a case made from 904L steel.

Its nickname simply comes from the extra zero in its reference number: the 16800 became the 168000. A brief interlude before the arrival of the 16610, which marked the beginning of a new generation of the Submariner Date.

A transitional reference produced for a remarkably short period and now particularly appreciated by collectors.
