L'isola di Astipàlea è l'unica isola della Grecia dove non ci sono affatto serpenti. Il motivo è molto semplice; vengono sterminati dalle innumerevoli cicogne che dominano l'isola.

I locali la chiamano Astropalià, nel resto della Grecia la chiamiamo Astipàlea.

E' l'isola più occidentale del complesso del Dodecaneso, un ponte naturale che collega le isole Cicladi con quelle del Dodecaneso.

L'isola è naturalmente separata da una striscia di terra larga meno di 100 m. che le conferisce la particolare forma a farfalla.

The island of Astipalea is the only island in Greece completely snake-free. The reason is very simple; the snakes are exterminated by the numerous storks that dominate the island.

Locals call it Astropalià, while in the rest of Greece, we call it Astipàlea.

It is the westernmost island in the Dodecanese complex, a natural bridge connecting the Cyclades islands with those of the Dodecanese.

The island is naturally separated by a strip of land less than 100 m wide, giving it its distinctive butterfly shape.

Ioannina is located in the western part of Greece, built along Pamvotida lake.
It’s vibrant city loaded with monuments that reveal the intercultural context
of the place and it is deeply embedded in nature.

It is surrounded by glorious mountains, dense forests, serene streams and waterfalls, so as you can imagine sheeps and goats grazing on meadows of the wider city region and blocking the roads is quite a common occurrence.
