🤖 The International Maritime Organization (IMO) adopted a new International Code of Safety for Maritime Autonomous Surface Ships (MASS Code) in May 2026, marking a major regulatory milestone for autonomous shipping. The Code will take effect from 1 July 2026.

Technological innovation within the maritime industry is resulting in rapid developments that will see the commercial use of autonomous ships, whether they are controlled remotely or are fully autonomous.
