They didn’t build this to be subtle.

Stone rises
column by column,
curve by curve-
designed to make you feel small
before you even look up.

And when you do-

the ceiling opens.

Not gently.
Not quietly.

It erupts.

Bodies in motion.
Heaven split wide.
Light breaking through paint
like it’e ctill alive

Every inch is filled
with something watching,
something reaching,
something telling you
there’s more above you
than you’ll ever touch.

But step back outside—

and it changes.

The same structure,
stripped of color,
reduced to weight and shadow.

No angels.
No light.
Just stone
doing what stone does-

endure.

Because that’s the truth of it:

Inside-
it asks for your belief.

Outside-
it proves it never needed it.
