Meet Itaiata De Sá, one of the percussionists of Macho Beta Orquestra . Born and raised in Salvador de Bahia, he began his career with Olodum — the legendary Bahian percussion group. After moving to Italy, he went on to collaborate with some of the biggest names in Italian and world music: Negrita, Piero Pelù, Roy Paci and Caetano Veloso!!!
He played percussion on HELLdorado (2008) by Negrita — a platinum-certified album and one of the most celebrated Italian rock records of that decade.
He was a key member of Roy Paci & Aretuska on Suonoglobal (2007), the summer when Toda Joia Toda Beleza became one of the most played songs on Italian radio and charts.
On the Macho Beta Orquestra album, he not only plays percussion but also lends his voice to a verse of Sempre Tarde de Manhã.
Now based in Florence, he is a central figure in the local Brazilian music scene, leading the Roda de Samba do Malandro.
