Shab-e Yalda (or Yalda Night) is an ancient Persian tradition celebrated on the longest night of the year (the winter solstice).
Persians gather with family and friends to welcome the return of longer days, symbolizing the victory of light over darkness and the rebirth of the sun.
We share juicy pomegranates and watermelons (for abundance and dawn's glow), nuts, poetry from Hafez, stories, and warmth until sunrise. A beautiful reminder of hope, togetherness, and brighter tomorrow!
