An ostomy is a surgically created opening, called a stoma, that allows waste to exit the body when the usual route is blocked or needs to be bypassed. This opening can be temporary or permanent and is typically created in the abdomen, connecting an internal organ (like the bowel or bladder) to the outside. The waste is then collected in an ostomy bag.The Ostomy will change the life style and daily routine of the patient in a significant way . The patients need support to lead a normal life after Ostomy. We have formed a group of ostomates to form a self support group. We are having a meeting next week on August 12 at Trivandrum .All ostomates are welcome to join .
