Traffic Advisory Issued Ahead of LG-Led Mega Padyatra in Ganderbal

: During Baggage Screening at Terminal 2 of Mumbai Airport, Screeners Detected Foreign Currency Worth USD 145,000 (approximately Rs 1.39 crore) in Hand Baggage of a Departing International Passenger.

The passenger, a citizen of Chad travelling on an Ethiopian Airlines flight to Addis Ababa, was handed over to Customs officials for further action.

*Anantnag Police Intensifies Action Against Drug Traffickers; Residential House of NDPS Accused Attached Under Section 68(F) of NDPS Act*

Anantnag, June 4, 2026:
Continuing its sustained crackdown against drug trafficking and narco-financed assets, Anantnag Police has attached a single-storey residential house belonging to accused Mohd Yousuf Hajam S/O Ghulam Mohammad Hajam R/O Panchalthan Chatergul under the provisions of Section 68(F) of the NDPS Act.

The attached property has been identified as illegally acquired property linked to proceeds generated through narcotic drug trafficking. The action has been taken in connection with Case FIR No. 42/2026 registered under Section 8/20 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Utrasoo, in which the accused is involved.

The attachment has been carried out in accordance with the provisions of the NDPS Act as part of the ongoing efforts to dismantle the financial infrastructure supporting drug trafficking and to deter individuals involved in the narcotics trade.

Anantnag Police remains committed to taking stringent action against drug peddlers and all those involved in the illegal narcotics network, while appealing to the public to continue supporting the fight against the drug menace by sharing credible information with the police.

Sopore Police Achieves Major Success Against Drug Network; 04 Drug Peddlers Arrested in Two Separate Cases, 150 Codeine Bottles and Psychotropic Capsules Recovered

, June 04:- In a major breakthrough under the ongoing 100-Day Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan, Sopore Police achieved significant success against drug trafficking networks by arresting 04 drug peddlers in two separate operations and recovering a large quantity of narcotic and psychotropic substances.

In the first operation, a police party of Police Station Sopore, while conducting patrolling in the *Badambagh area,* noticed three suspicious persons carrying bags and moving along a link road. On noticing the police party, the suspects attempted to flee into nearby orchards but were tactfully apprehended.

During their search, *police recovered a total of 150 bottles of Codeine-based syrup from their possession.*

The accused have been identified as:

1. *Irfan Ahmad Peer S/O Khursheed Ahmad Peer R/O Badambagh*
2. *Ajaz Ahmad Mattoo S/O Gh. Nabi Mattoo R/O Badambagh*
3. *Umer Zahoor Najar S/O Zahoor Ahmad Najar R/O Badambagh*

Accordingly, *FIR No. 132/2026 under Sections 8/22/29 NDPS Act* has been registered at Police Station Sopore and investigation has been taken up to ascertain the source and intended distribution network.

In another operation, during routine night naka checking at *Sangrama-Seer Crossing,* the naka party of Police Post Putkha intercepted one suspicious person identified as *Majid Ashraf Khan S/O Mohammad Ashraf Khan R/O Peth Seer.* During his personal search, police recovered *SPASMO-PROXYVON PLUS capsules* from his possession.

In this connection, *FIR No. 88/2026 under Section 8/22 NDPS Act* has been registered at Police Station Tarzoo and further investigation is in progress.

*These back-to-back operations reflect the intensified anti-drug campaign being undertaken by Sopore Police to dismantle narcotics networks and prevent the spread of drugs among the youth.*
