Arshid Iqbal Dar, hailing from Movera, Pahalagam, has recently achieved a remarkable feat by securing the first rank in the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) examination for the position of Assistant Professor in Political Science. Arshid stands out among the scholars of Kashmir University due to his profound interest in research and his significant contributions to the field.

Arshid pursued his education in government schools, starting from primary education and continuing through higher education. He joined the Department of Political Science in 2011 and successfully completed his studies in 2013. After obtaining his master's degree, he demonstrated exceptional academic prowess by qualifying the National Eligibility Test (NET) three times, as well as the State Eligibility Test (SET), Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), and Senior Research Fellowship (SRF).

His doctoral work, completed in 2019, received high praise and extensive citations. His Ph.D. research focused on the challenging theme of "Realignment and Changing Power Structure in South Asia." Following the completion of his Ph.D., Arshid embarked on a teaching career, initially at Cluster University and then at the Central University, where he dedicated two years. Currently, he is associated with the Centre for International Relations at the Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST). Additionally, Arshid is a Non-Resident Fellow with the WSD-Non-Resident Fellow program at the Pacific Forum in Honolulu, USA.

Arshid's scholarly contributions are evident through his numerous research papers published in prestigious journals such as Routledge, Sage, and Springer. His work has also been featured in prominent publications like the Journal of Borderland Studies, Asian Affairs, Chinese Political Science Review, India Quarterly, and Millennial Asia. Notably, his latest publication, titled "India's Exit from RCEP," was published in the esteemed journal Asian Survey, published by the University of California Press.

When asked about his achievements, Arshid humbly attributes his success to his family, especially his sisters. He also acknowledges the pivotal role played by his teachers, who have guided him throughout his educational journey from primary school to university.
