Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma has retained key departments including Home & Political, PWD (Buildings & National Highways), PWD (Roads), Power, and Information, Public Relations, Printing & Stationery. The Chief Minister will also oversee any department not allotted to other Ministers.
Lakhipur MLA Kaushik Rai has been assigned Food, Public Distribution & Consumer Affairs, Housing & Urban Affairs, and Cooperation departments.
Patharkandi MLA Krishnendu Paul will handle Public Health Engineering, Hill Areas, and Barak Valley Development departments.

Breaking News Lakhipur MLA Shri Kaushik Rai has been named among the 12 legislators who will be sworn in as Cabinet Ministers in the Government of Assam on June 5 at 12:45 PM, as announced by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.Additionally Patharkandi's MLA Shri Krishnendu Paul also got a ministerial berth.Their induction into the state cabinet is expected to strengthen Barak Valley's representation in the Assam government.
