Albinism is a rare genetic disorder characterized by the absence of melanin pigment in the skin, hair, and eyes, resulting in visual impairments and heightened sensitivity to sunlight. The primary objective of this day is to challenge misconceptions and stereotypes associated with albinism, promote inclusivity and equal opportunities for people with albinism, and address the obstacles they face, including discrimination, stigmatization, and limited access to healthcare and education. It underscores the importance of embracing diversity, fostering understanding, and creating an environment where individuals with albinism can thrive and contribute to society.
