Tube Investments of India Ltd., of the Murugappa group proposes to invest around Rs 600 crore in a combination of both green and brownfield expansions to manufacture bicycles, tubes and chains. The company has reached almost full capacity and has planned expansion of capacities by 30-35 percent, across all segments.

Prominent healthcare chain Max Healthcare will invest around Rs 600 crore to launch four new hospitals by the end of this year to increase its bed capacity in the country by 1,000 beds. The new multi-speciality hospitals are proposed to come up at Bhatinda and Mohali in Punjab, Shalimar Bagh in Delhi and Dehradun.

JK Organisation plans to set up a 1,360 MW power plant near Jhansi in Uttar Pradesh, on which it will make an initial investment of Rs 1,300 crore within two years.

Delta Electronics (Thailand), the largest SET-listed electronics firm, plans to raise its capital expenditure to US$70 million (2.11 billion baht) this year, from $40 million spent last year, mainly for building new plants in India and Slovakia. The Chennai plant and the second Slovakia unit, which would make solar inverters, are expected to start production in mid-2012.

Shasun Pharmaceuticals expects to set up its long over-due plant in Visakhapatnam this year. The company will invest Rs 100 crore in the plant that will manufacture active pharmaceutical ingredients (API), and the investment will be spread over two years.
