At the FE Mobility Summit 2026, during the Panel Discussion on The Energy Equation: Oil, Geopolitics and the Future of Mobility, Karan Nandwani, Head of Business, Statiq primarily spoke about EV charging infrastructure and operational realities on the ground.
He explained that charger deployment depends on factors such as safety, accessibility, 24/7 availability, nearby amenities, and user convenience. He noted that infrastructure bottlenecks often arise from local grid readiness and transformer capacity issues. He also discussed the importance of installing multiple chargers at a single location to reduce waiting times and improve user experience.
On standardization, he mentioned that while four-wheelers are moving toward standardized charging systems, two- and three-wheelers still lack uniform charging connector standards.

LIVE From │Deepak Nanwani
At the FE Mobility Summit 2026, during the Panel Discussion on The Energy Equation: Oil, Geopolitics and the Future of Mobility, Deepak Nanwani, Head of Business, Yuma Energy emphasized that recent geopolitical tensions and oil price shocks have reinforced the urgency for India to reduce dependence on imported fossil fuels.
He said electrification is no longer only a sustainability initiative but a strategic economic necessity. Since mobility consumes a major share of imported fuel, shifting transport towards electric mobility can significantly reduce India’s forex burden and improve long-term energy security.
He also highlighted the importance of renewable energy integration, decentralized grids, and energy storage solutions to support large-scale EV adoption.
Towards the end, he spoke about battery swapping as a game-changing model for commercial two- and three-wheelers because it lowers upfront costs and improves operational efficiency for gig workers and fleet operators.
