1. Consequent stream- Path depends on original slope of the surface eg. Narmada, Tapti
2. Subsequent stream- Stream course does not depend on the original slope. They develop their valleys along an outcrop of less resistant rocks or a regional fault or joint pattern
Right angle to consequent stream
3. Resequent stream- Path of the stream follows original relief but lower level than original slope
4. Obsequent stream- Stream course depends on rock strata
Form right angle to subsequent and opp to consequent
5. Insequent stream patterns- Have almost random drainage often forming dendritic patterns
Form an acute angle with upstream part of consequent stream
