From the navel region, the energy moves upwards to the heart region and manifests in three forms – fear, love, and hatred. When people feel hatred or fear or love, the sensation is felt in the heart region.

In Sanskrit, Anahata means “unstruck” or “unbeaten”. This signifies an impartial and infinite love allowing a deeper understanding of self and others. It is located in the region of the heart, in the center of the chest.

The third chakra, called manipura, is located four finger breadths above the navel. “Manipura” means “lustrous gem of the city,” and is associated with the natural element fire and directly linked to your sense of self. Its associated color is yellow, hence its links to fire and, more broadly, the sun.

This energy center is associated with your self-esteem, sense of purpose, personal identity, individual will, digestion, and metabolism. When consciousness moves freely in this center, you are empowered by transformative energy.
