Bhanwar Vilas Palace was constructed in 1938 as the personal residence of the then ruler of Karauli, Maharaja Ganesh Pal. The architecture of the palace is distinctive, marking a departure from the traditional forts and palaces of the region, including the older Karauli City Palace, with an elegant blend of Art Deco and colonial influences.

Nestled within a working farm surrounded by horses and cattle, Bhanwar Vilas Palace offers a unique and serene atmosphere. The gardens of the palace also house garages showcasing a remarkable collection of classic and vintage cars. It was a short but memorable visit to explore this charming place — and certainly one worth returning to.

It’s heartbreaking to see the Ashwamedh Yagya Stambh of Dhundhaarh (Jaipur) in such a state — once a proud symbol of power and sovereignty, now standing neglected and powerless.
