Today on 7th July 2024, Sunday, is the auspicious day of 'RATHA YATRA' (Car Festival) also known as 'Ghosa Jatra', the most important festival of Lord Jagannath commences.

This year's great Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath at Puri will be over in two days on July 7 and 8, 2024. This year, after 53 years, the Rath Yatra, Netra Utsav, and Nabajaubana Darshan will all coincide on July 7th, the same day as a celestial event. The deities will be brought to the Shree Gundicha temple on July 8.

This colorful festival which draws millions of devotees from various parts of the country as well as from abroad to Puri (Odisha), is held in June-July every year. Lord Jagannath, Lord of the Universe, comes out of His sanctum sanctorum to give Darshan to all Devotees belonging to all sects and communities. lt is said that those who take part in the RATH YATRA Festival earn their passage to the Heaven.
