The Ethiopians follow the Eritrean calendar which is of 13 months, where in the last month is called Pagume and has five days & six days in a leap year. They continued using the same calendar that the Roman church had amended in 525 AD.

Walked into wearing a green top with pants, a yellow bag and red lips and blended right in with the green, yellow, red themed décor (coincidentally), which are the colours of the Ethiopian flag.
This was just the beginning of a sense of familiarity with the place! 💚
A decade of being friends, Komal and I have never enjoyed a friend's date night as much as we did at ! (Swipe to see our happy faces 🤗)
First and foremost, I have to mention just how cosy the ambience is. It's almost like going over to an Ethiopian friend's place for a traditional dinner. Plus the thought put into every little aspect of the decor including the lampshades. Simply wow! We could not stop clicking pictures... Dining at Abyssinian has been an eye-opening experience in so many ways...It was a great reminder of the importance of eating with the entire family and using one's hands to eat. It's a tradition to start the meal by feeding each other the first morsel! ❤️
We tried out Tej - the Ethiopian rice wine and the Mit Mita Soda. Next up was Sambosa Lentil (so addictive) and the Shorba (the tastiest and most wholesome soup).
For the main course, we opted for the vegetarian Baraka Messob. An interesting aspect was the familiarity of the ingredients and taste yet with a distinct characteristic. I could eat the Injera bread everyday! ☺️ The meal concluded with some traditional desserts and the well-known Ethiopian coffee (pure love)! I cannot wait to go back and soak in some more of the cultural experience with the husband and even my parents (who are not particularly experimental with their cuisine but will definitely love what this place has to offer). ☺️💕 Thank you for the wonderful time and 🤗
