Transforming Pune’s Skies: New Heliport at Hadapsar Gliding Centre

Ishwarchandra Gulgule, Managing Director of Kaigu Aviation, welcomes the landmark announcement by Minister of State for Civil Aviation and Pune MP Murlidhar Mohol.

Construction for the state-of-the-art heliport is set to begin this November, marking a significant shift in Pune’s aviation infrastructure. As noted by Mohol, the project will centralize operations for the city’s growing fleet of 18–20 helicopters, moving traffic away from the congested Lohegaon airport.

“A single, well-equipped heliport will provide adequate space for landings and take-offs, along with a centralized point of coordination,” says Ishwarchandra Gulgule. “Considering the high movement of choppers in Pune, this project is vital for improving both operational efficiency and safety.”

Key Project Highlights:
📍 Location: 250-acre Hadapsar Gliding Centre.
🌏 Infrastructure: To include hangars, fueling facilities, lighting systems, and passenger terminals.
⏳ Timeline: Land transfer to the AAI is in its final stages; work begins November 2026.
