What began as an introduction to a new city, after our shift from Mumbai, went on to become a strong desire to know more of the rich culture, heritage, architecture of Pune... followed by a need to spread awareness and pride, in the minds and hearts of the local residents, as well as every Indian visiting this city. And to share this wonderful treasure trove with international tourists.

12 July 1961 - 55 years ago today, the Panshet dam burst created a huge wall of water rushing into Pune city ... destroying bridges, buildings, walls ..anything that came in its way. When the water level finally receded by the evening, it had left a huge trail of destruction.
I wrote this blog-post 5 years ago, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of this fateful day in Pune's history.
