3rd May is Celebrated as 'International Leopard Day'..
It is celebrated annually on May 3rd to raise awareness about the conservation of leopards (Panthera pardus), which are listed as Vulnerable on the IUCN Red List. The day focuses on addressing threats like habitat loss, poaching, and human-wildlife conflict for these adaptable but declining, spotted big cats.
There are 9 recognized species of Leopards based on Geography..

1. African Leopard
2. Indian Leopard
3. Javan Leopard
4. Arabian Leopard
5. Amur Leopard
6. Persian Leopard
7. Indochinese Leopard
8. Sri Lankan Leopard
9. North Chinese Leopard

There are many species of leopards apart from what we see in Indian Forests..Few of them are..

1. Black Panther -Very rare sighting in Kabini Tiger reserve
2. Snow Leopard- Habitats in Snow regions of North
3. Clouded Leopards - Found in Nepal, Bangladesh, Assam, Indochina, Sumatra
