In a striking political development, Shirur MLA Mauli Katke was compelled to launch a hunger strike over the long-pending Wagholi–Awhalwadi road issue despite being part of the ruling establishment. The road, which falls under the state highway network, has remained in poor condition for years, causing hardships for thousands of commuters and local residents. Katke stated that he had repeatedly raised the issue in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly and made several representations to the concerned authorities, but alleged administrative inaction and delays forced him to resort to agitation. The protest has once again highlighted the growing frustration among public representatives and citizens over infrastructure delays and the lack of responsiveness from government departments regarding crucial development works in the rapidly expanding Wagholi region.

In a surprise inspection at Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Government Hospital in Baramati, Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar conducted a comprehensive review of healthcare services without prior notice, putting hospital officials and staff on alert. During her visit, she inspected various departments, assessed cleanliness standards, reviewed medicine availability, and examined the overall functioning of the hospital administration. Interacting directly with patients and their relatives, Pawar listened to their grievances and sought feedback on the quality of services being provided. She reportedly reprimanded officials and employees found neglecting their duties and issued strict instructions to ensure accountability and improve patient care. Stressing the importance of maintaining cleanliness and delivering efficient healthcare services, she directed the administration to implement necessary corrective measures immediately. The surprise visit has generated discussion in Baramati, with many observing similarities between her hands-on approach and the administrative style often associated with Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar.
