Bhoomi Puja, the foundation rituals done to invoke the Kuladevta, Gramdevta, and Vastupurush, seeking protection, prosperity, and harmony for the new home.
Prayers are also offered to Nagadevta, the serpent deities believed to reside within the earth and protect fertility and water energies. In coastal and agrarian cultures, reverence is also shown symbolically to creatures like the tortoise (Kurma), which in Hindu cosmology represents stability and foundational strength.
A ceremonial worship of the Sheela (foundation stone) was conducted, along with a Vishwakarma Pooja of the tools- the axe and plough, placed in the hands of the labourers who will build the home.
Flowers were offered to the divine, seeking blessings for strength, protection, and harmony in the construction ahead.
Seeking their blessings is a way of asking forgiveness for disturbing the soil, and inviting harmony between the built structure and the living ecosystem beneath it, so the house may stand balanced, protected, and prosperous.

Making physical models is one of the most underrated parts of the design process.
There’s something powerful about holding an idea in your hand, and not just seeing it on a screen.
In our studio, we often build models so clients can touch, move, and interact with their spaces before they’re built. It brings clarity, sparks new conversations, and makes the design journey collaborative and tangible.
