When I get queries from people who sound excited to become fighters, to learn how to punch and kick, I want to tell them that self-defence is not the fancy action you see in movies. It is NOT pretty or cool. It is a last resort - difficult, dirty, scary. It needs a strong mindset and not just repetition of some techniques you learn. And yet, it is one of the most important skills you can learn - but for the right reasons.
