The launch of Learning teaching material for foundational stage is a welcome initiative. Adding the term Learning before Teaching also indicates a change! The importance of developmentally appropriate, sensorial and open ended materials contributes towards concept building in early years. The Pre Operational and Concreate Operational stage of cognitive development requires materials in the hands for children to explore. The emphasis given to mother tongue should be taken seriously by school leaders, organization heads.
