यह अद्भुत लगता है! छठ पूजा पारंपरिक रूप से नदियों, झीलों या तालाबों जैसे प्राकृतिक जल निकायों के पास मनाई जाती है, जहां भक्त सूर्य देव को प्रार्थना करते हैं। हरि नगर सोसायटी के परिसर में एक स्वच्छ और विशाल तालाब बनाया और अनुष्ठानों के लिए गंगा जल का उपयोग किया, यह परंपरा को अपने समुदाय की सेटिंग में ढालते हुए उसका सम्मान करने का एक सुंदर तरीका है। इन अनुष्ठानों के साथ अपने हरि नगर परिसर में छठ पूजा मनाने से इस प्राचीन त्योहार के सार को संरक्षित करते हुए सामुदायिक और आध्यात्मिक संबंध की भावना को बढ़ावा मिलता है।

ओ३म् आकृष्णेन रजसा वर्तमानो निवेशयन्नमृतं मर्त्यण्च ।
हिरण्य़येन सविता रथेन देवो याति भुवनानि पश्यन ।।

On the third day of Chhath Puja , 'vratis' observe fast without eating or consuming even a drop of water. Prasad of 'Thekua' is prepared with jaggery, ghee & flour.
At sunset the 'vratis' along with their family offer arghya to Lord Surya in a nearby water body, known as 'Sandhya Arghya' or 'Pehli Arghya'.

A lot of emphasis is laid on cleanliness & hygiene. The fast continues for the entire night till the sunrise of the next day.

There are several legends associated with the origin of Chhath Puja.

Vedic sages used to perform the puja by exposing to direct sunlight to gain energy from the sun rays & did not consume any eatables.

The second day of Chhath puja is Kharna. On this day, the 'vrati' observes a fast without water throughout the day. In the evening, Gud ki Kheer & roti is prepared. The kheer is made on an earthen stove. After offering the arghya to Lord Surya, the 'vrati' consumes the kheer & it is distributed as prasad among the family members.

According to belief Goddess Chhathi is considered to be Lord Brahma’s Manasputri & Lord Surya’s sister. Goddess Chhathi is considered to bless fertility to women. Besides that, women pray for the long life of their children.
