The meeting was participated by more than 150 lawyers, activists and students from various districts of Bihar, who are working to protect the rights of the vulnerable and marginalized community of the society. It explored the numerous issues of the Migrant Labourers, Bonder Labourers, LGBTIQ+, religious minorities, prisoners, housing and environment especially during the period of COVID.
The meeting was conducted in State Institute of Health and Family Welfare, Patna from 23rd to 25th January 2021. All the norms of COVID were followed.
Today, Empowering Marginalized Population Foundation (EMPF) supported 150 migrant families of Islampur, Nalanda, Bihar in association with Jan Sahas. The EMPF team followed all the norms of social distancing and guiding principles with COVID. The migrant workers, daily wagers and other marginalized population are the most affected due to lockdown in the country. Most of these families are struggling every day to feed the family and the children are not able to get a meal for at least once in a day.
EMPF which has been formed to empower the marginalized, in this unprecedented situation came forward to support the families with dry ration in various districts of Bihar. Along with the ration, EMPF also distributed sanitizers to fight Corona. EMPF founder Fazal Abdali appealed that the situation is worsening every day and the government is not worried about these families at all. Also, everyone should come together and support the families who are in distress.
EMPF's director Naiyer Abdali appreciates Noor Abdali, Jafar Abdali for their support.

We are trying our best to not only provide the sanitizers to the street vendors, police and others who are providing assistance but also to sensitize them about the importance of sanitizers and social distancing. We have distributed more than 600 bottles to the respective population. More to go. Together we will bring change.
