No matter how how my day looks like that one thing I rarely skip is cooking my own Seeing my Ma taking all interest in giving me the best of her preparations today this kitchen is my sanctuary and cooking is meditative for me. From preparing the masala to cutting veggies to getting the dishes ready on the table - I like to do it all myself. I prefer the rustic flavour of food. There’s something magical about winter kitchens—especially when natun aloor dum is bubbling away on the stove. ✨ This simple, niramish Bengali classic, made with tender new potatoes and no onion or garlic, carries a warmth that goes far beyond the recipe. Every time I stir in the hing and watch the gravy thicken, I’m transported straight back to Dida’s home. Her hands knew flavours the way poets know words. ❤️
Two days ago, as I made hing diye aloor dum, it felt like she was right there, guiding me the way she always did—softly, surely, lovingly.

And when you pair it with fulko luchi? Pure bliss. The kind of bliss that doesn’t need a Michelin star, because it already holds the stars of memory, nostalgia, and home. ⭐️
