Sang-Young Park made sports history as he was the first Asian man (and Korean) to win an individual Olympic gold medal in fencing. He accomplished this feat in the men’s épée event at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics.
Facing an almost career ending injury, he came back to fencing and is now currently ranked #59 in the world as he attempts to make his 3rd career Olympics. Now 30 years old , he still has more than enough gas in the tank and time.
He also coaches and owns his own club in Seoul, Korea.

Big News in fencing : is starting his own World League. This will be a prize money fencing endeavor. has already joined and likely many more. Foil is surely a guarantee, but where will Epee and Sabre be in this ? Are you on board ?

With her SIX medals in Bahrain, Jennette Starks-Faulkner is believed to be the first American to medal in all three weapons at the same Veteran Fencing World Championships. Congrats to Jennette and her coaches on a great week of competition!
