SDMIMD– BCIC Study Highlights Pathways to Accelerate Net-Zero Transition
SDM Institute for Management Development (SDMIMD), Mysore, in collaboration with Bangalore Chambers of Industry and Commerce (BCIC), Karnataka, undertook the research titled “Multi-Sector Empirical & Bibliometric Study on Advancing Sustainability to Accelerate Net-Zero.” The study was executed by Dr. Sunil M.V., Faculty - Systems and General Management, SDMIMD, and Dr. Mousumi Sengupta, Dean - International Relations & Professor - HRM & OB, SDMIMD.
The report was released at the BCIC Conclave on “Advancing Sustainability: Collaboration and Innovation to Accelerate Net-Zero” held in Bengaluru on May 14, 2026.
A central insight emerging from the study is that achieving net-zero goals requires an integrated approach involving technology adoption, collaborative governance, circular economy models, and disciplined management of Scope 3 supply-chain emissions.

Meet Our Academic Leader- Dr. Anand Sasikumar
Dr. Anand Sasikumar is an Assistant Professor of Operations and Supply Chain Management at SDMIMD, Mysuru, with over 18 years of rich experience across academia and industry. He holds a Ph.D. in Operations & Supply Chain Management from IIM Mumbai, a master’s degree in industrial engineering from Concordia University, Canada—ranked among the top six Canadian universities for Mechanical and Industrial Engineering and globally ranked (~97th) in Industrial Engineering—and an MBA (Systems) from Bangalore University.
A dedicated researcher, Dr. Anand has made significant scholarly contributions in Lean Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing, Sustainability and Environmental Responsibility, ESG integration, Circular and Closed-Loop Supply Chains, Industry 4.0/5.0, Smart Manufacturing, and Supply Chain Disaster Management. He has published extensively in Q1 and Scopus-indexed journals, including bibliometric analyses of circular economy in supply chains, and has authored research on optimization of educational resources and industry operational models. His academic portfolio also includes edited books and book chapters on AI in manufacturing and lean practices, SAGE Business Cases Originals addressing real-world managerial challenges in CRM and post-COVID manufacturing, and collaborative industry research reports on AI-driven cybersecurity insights.
At SDMIMD, Dr. Anand teaches Operations Management, Project Management, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Lean and Green Management, Strategic Quality Management, and Supply Chain Analytics. He is known for integrating industry perspectives with analytical rigor through case-based learning, simulations, and real-world problem solving, fostering high levels of classroom engagement and industry readiness.
An active academic leader, Dr. Anand conducts Faculty Development Programs and workshops on bibliometric research techniques, advanced analytics, and effective teaching methodologies. He also serves as a reviewer for international journals, including SAGE Open and the Asian Journal of Management Cases. Committed to continuous professional development, he holds a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt from VarSigma (an Exemplar Global–ASQ family certified TPECS provider), a Project Management certification from Indira Gandhi University, and has completed specialized training programs at NIT Trichy, IIM Kozhikode, and advanced analytics training at IIM Bangalore.

Meet Our Academic Leader- Dr. Srilakshminarayana G.
Dr. Srilakshminarayana G. is an accomplished academician and researcher, currently serving as Associate Professor of Quantitative Methods at SDMIMD, Mysuru. A Gold Medallist in his Master’s programme, he completed his doctoral studies with prestigious fellowships from the University of Mysore and the University Grants Commission (UGC). He is also a distinguished alumnus of IIM Ahmedabad, reflecting his strong grounding in both analytical rigor and management excellence.
A passionate researcher, Dr. SLN’s scholarly interests span the application of advanced statistical methods across diverse domains, including Model Building, Text Analytics, Extreme Value Theory, Limit Theorems in Probability, and Data Analytics using R. His current research focus is aligned with the future of decision sciences—Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. With a rich research portfolio, he has published extensively in reputed national and international journals, contributed chapters to edited volumes, presented papers at leading conferences, and served as editor for research journals. His case studies are published with the India Case Research Centre and the All India Management Association. He has also co-authored a major government-sponsored research project on the Socio-Economic Deprivation Status of Rural Households in Karnataka, undertaken for the Abdul Nazir Sab State Institute of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, Government of Karnataka.
At SDMIMD, Dr. SLN teaches a wide range of analytically intensive and industry-relevant courses, including Data Analytics (R, Python, Tableau, Power BI), Operations Management, Operations Research, Statistical Quality Control, and Quantitative Techniques. Known for his highly practical and application-oriented teaching approach, he integrates real-world datasets, corporate cases, and interdisciplinary problem-solving into the classroom. Each student works on exclusive datasets, developing critical analysis, analytical thinking, and leadership capabilities—ensuring the ability to translate quantitative insights into effective managerial decisions.
A committed academic leader, Dr. SLN actively designs and delivers Faculty Development Programs (FDPs), Management Development Programs (MDPs), and Research Development Programs (RDPs) in his areas of expertise. He currently serves as the Chairperson – Accreditations & Approvals, overseeing AICTE compliance and government schemes, and has led several research initiatives aimed at enhancing institutional quality and rankings.
Dr. Srilakshminarayana strongly believes that students must focus on building future-ready careers by continuously enhancing their capabilities and creating positive impact in their chosen fields. He also advocates for stronger industry–academia collaboration, emphasizing constructive corporate engagement to bridge skill gaps and drive meaningful, sustainable growth.
