Is it true that the IAS/IPS or any other civil servant fears a top politician?

India is a democracy and in a democracy the politicians are vested with huge powers as Ministers.

Who then could be more powerful than those whom politicians fear?

Is not it interesting to know who the politicians fear?

And the answer is

Politicians do not fear anyone in India, except the officials. Agents IAS, IPS or IRS.

Many politicians have been sent to prison for the sincerity and commitment of the officials.

Many politicians, including former CM, remain in prison.

IAS / IPS / IRS agents can inform politicians.

However, they do not work below them.

They work with politicians.

They work under the law and have the real power to enforce the law.

They fear politicians only when they themselves are corrupt or ineffective; and, therefore, they need the support and protection of politicians to continue with their harmful activities.

Politicians come and go in five years.

Public servants have been there for almost four decades.

They are not appointed by politicians or at the mercy of politicians for their survival in government.

Their conditions of service are protected by the Constitution of India and can not be lifted by any politician provided they do their work honestly and in accordance with the law.
