Thakur Shyamnarayan College of Education and Research, in collaboration with the Inner Wheel Club of Bombay Kandivli, celebrated International Yoga Day on 20th June 2026. The program was organized under the guidance of our Trustee, Shri Rakesh Singhji, in the presence of our Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Megha Gokhe and Coordinator Mrs. Payal Batavia.
The program commenced at 10:30 a.m. with a warm welcome of the resource person, Ms. Anita Pandit (Yoga Therapist). Our respected Principal, Dr. (Mrs.) Megha Gokhe, addressed the gathering and emphasized the significance of yoga in maintaining physical, mental, and emotional well-being. She encouraged students and faculty members to adopt yoga as a part of their daily routine for a healthy and balanced lifestyle. Dr. Megha Gokhe also felicitated Ms. Anita Pandit with a token of appreciation in recognition of her valuable contribution to the program.
The resource person, Ms. Anita Pandit, conducted an informative and engaging yoga session, demonstrating various yoga postures, breathing techniques, and relaxation exercises. Participants enthusiastically performed the asanas and learned about the numerous benefits of yoga, including improved flexibility, concentration, stress management, and overall wellness.
The session witnessed active participation from students and faculty members. The program created awareness about the importance of yoga and inspired everyone to embrace a healthy lifestyle through regular practice of yoga and mindfulness.
The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by student teacher Ms. Sakshi, who expressed her heartfelt gratitude to our trustee Mr. Rakesh Singhji, Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Megha Gokhe, Coordinator Mrs. Payal Batavia, Resource Person Ms. Anita Pandit, members of the Inner Wheel Club of Bombay Kandivli, faculty members, and students for their valuable support and enthusiastic participation in making the celebration a grand success.
