*Malto dextrin*
No added sugar product are quite popular in these days. Have you ever wonder how do these things taste as sweet as sugar containing products available in market. Sugar is replaced by a compound named Maltodextrin. It is a carbohydrate in white powder form extracted from plants like wheat, corn, potato, rice. Though it comes from plants but it’s highly processed and used as thickener , stabilizer, sweetner in various processed foods.
The excessive consumption of maltodextrin can have many side effects on health
• Blood sugar
Having high glycemic index, the consumption of such food can spike your sugar levels much faster than normal. It can also cause type 2 diabetes.
