On World Photography Day - 19th August 2010 our association the Goan Shutterbugs was launched at the hands of the then Chief Minister of Goa. The whole idea of forming our association started on 6th September 2009, when SEVEN shutterbugs – Saish Borkar, Saurabh Dalvi, Apoorv Bhembre, Nilesh Prabhudesai, Sayli Sawant, Radhakant Divkar and Lynn Barreto Miranda met on a rainy day to have a photo walk

COMMEMORATING THE MARTYRS OF 1890 MARGAO MASSACRE
On the 21st of September 1890, 23 people were killed and many others injured as soldiers fired upon a group of people who had gathered near Camara Municipal de Salcete in Margao demanding their right to vote.
To commemorate the martyrs, Goan Shutterbugs are organising a walk on Sunday, 22nd September at 4.30pm starting from Holy Spirit Church, Margao.
Later at 6pm we hope to witness the equinox spectacle, where the setting sun lights up the church altars.
The walk is free and open to all.
