Some people say politics should not come into cricket. But I want to ask them something. Imagine if soldiers started saying the same thing — that they have no personal problem with Pakistan, so they will not fight and the nation can handle its own wars. How would we feel then?

Politics is about people, and people together make a nation. Sportsmen are also part of that nation. When our soldiers stand at the border and take bullets, they are protecting all of us. So we cannot completely separate the nation from sports.

That is why I personally feel that the decision taken by Kavya Maran is not right in any situation.
