Barely three decades ago, were the majority of children with developmental disabilities regarded as ineducable. However, in the last few years there has been a marked increase in the awareness and implications of neuro-motor challenges faced by such children. The most significant realization has been the fact that the education of the child with special needs is concerned with his intellectual development. Consequently, an interdisciplinary and integrated approach with inclusion is essential for achieving the maximum progress of such a child. Given appropriate training, children can work productively and contribute positively to the family and community. Early intervention is of vital importance for infants who have been identified as having a neuro-motor problem. It has long been established that the earlier intervention begins, the better the outcome for the child. With this objective in mind, Saksham has introduced early intervention for better tomorrow following assessment, treatment, management accompanied by training for teachers and parents and research division has been established.
