Kaustubh finds its identity in Indian mythology inspired by the Kaustubh Mani, the divine gem that emerged from the Samudra Manthan.

Capturing the same essence of purity and rarity that the gem symbolises, the interiors are designed to reflect this philosophy through their materiality, detailing, and atmosphere.

Anchored in a deliberate shift from the rigidity of the plot, the massing of the Oblique Residence is carefully angled to shape a series of open and semi-open spaces that feel both dynamic and intimate.

These oblique moves create pockets of light and ventilation while subtly redirecting views away from the road, allowing the home to turn inward without losing its connection to the surroundings.

The architecture mirrors the boundless enthusiasm of children across age groups.

Forms are fluid, expressive, and slightly unpredictable, much like a child’s imagination. Colours are bold yet harmonious, inspired by the spontaneity and vibrancy of childhood. The spatial language draws cues from nature; rolling mounds, cave-like nooks, treehouse-like vantage points, abstracted into a contemporary play environment.

Located along the vibrant stretch of Varthur–Sarjapur Road in Bengaluru, the site offers a dynamic sense of arrival, a gradual reveal as you enter the premises, setting the tone for an experience that’s playful, energetic, and full of anticipation.
