Poovar Island stole my breath first – a rare corner of Kerala where river, lake, backwaters and the Arabian Sea come together in one serene frame.

Golden sand, coconut fringed shores and mirror‑calm waters made every boat ride feel like gliding through a secret estuary painting.

Then came Varkala Cliff – the only seaside cliff stretch in Kerala, hanging high above the Arabian Sea with uninterrupted blue horizons and cafés overlooking the waves.

Sunset here feels cinematic: red cliffs, orange skies and the sound of the ocean rising up to meet you.
