Happy to share about this surgery, a 39 yrs lady with giant thyroid swelling of size 15 * 18 cm for last 15 yrs duration with minimal pressure effects and without any signs of hypo/ hyper functioning of gland was operated yesterday for total thyroidectomy.
Intra operatively, there was difficulty in identifying structures as anatomy was distorted due to large size of gland. There was no retrosternal extension. Lt lobe was large with superior pole reaching beyond angle of mandible. Bilateral nerves were identified and preserved.Specimen retrieved in total.

Pt was electively ventilated for 24 hrs and then extubated. Pt has good voice and good tone.
