Four centuries later, these walls breathe differently.
In the heart of Fort Kochi, a 2000 sq.ft structure layered with memory begins a new chapter as a sustainable clothing store. The space was thoughtfully reimagined to house conscious fashion within architecture that already carries the weight and wisdom of time.
Inspired by the spirit of Fort Kochi, the design reflects its textured streets, filtered coastal light, layered histories, and artistic pulse. Earth led palettes, natural materials, and intentional spatial planning shape a retail experience that feels grounded, climate conscious, and culturally connected.
Not an erasure of what was.
A continuation with purpose.

House of Vandy | Contextual Retail in a Heritage Setting
House of Vandy occupies a 350-year-old heritage building in Fort Kochi, reimagined as a contemporary flagship retail store. The project focuses on adapting the historic structure for modern retail use while preserving its architectural integrity.
Original lime-washed walls, aged textures, and existing structural elements were retained and carefully integrated into the design framework. The intervention follows a contextual minimal approach, allowing the architecture to remain prominent while introducing spatial clarity and functional efficiency for retail.Material selections and spatial planning align with the brand’s emphasis on sustainability and conscious retail, ensuring the space remains both historically grounded and operationally relevant.
