Located in the western Malwa plateau, Jhabua is a predominantly tribal district, dominated by the Bhil and Bhilala communities. The district has an undulating terrain, shallow soils, and a semi-arid climate, making agriculture largely rainfed.

Jhabua’s economy is supported by subsistence agriculture, minor forest produce, and government welfare programmes. Culturally, it is known for rich tribal art, music, dance, and festivals.

Located in south-western Madhya Pradesh, Khandwa lies in the Nimar region along the Narmada Valley. The district has fertile black cotton soil and a sub-tropical climate, supporting crops like cotton, soybean, wheat, and pulses.
