BJP Wants Atishi Sacked from Delhi Assembly Over Alleged Insult to Sikh Guru

A massive furore erupted in Delhi Assembly after the BJP MLA fuelled an ardent protest over Atishi’s remark. The lawmakers demanded that the LoP should attend the session and a censure motion would be brought against her.

Several Delhi ministers, including Pravesh Verma and Manjinder Singh Sirsa, on Wednesday submitted a memorandum to Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta seeking termination of the Leader of Opposition Atishi’s membership in connection with the alleged insult of Guru Tegh Bahadur.

AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi Palaniswami on Wednesday met PMK president Anbumani Ramadoss as the PMK joined hands with the AIADMK to form alliance with the NDA, PMK president Anbumani Ramadoss said. Palaniswami also announced the inclusion of Pattali Makkal Katchi in the state's National Democratic Alliance ahead of the forthcoming Tamil Nadu elections.

Karnataka History Made: Siddaramaiah Now Longest-Serving Chief Minister

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Wednesday created history by becoming the longest-serving Chief Minister of Karnataka, surpassing the record held by late Devaraj Urs, a towering figure associated with social justice and land reforms in the state.

In his second term, the 77-year-old leader on January 6 equalled Urs' record of 2,792 days in office, marking a significant milestone in Karnataka's political history. Urs had served as Chief Minister for 2,113 days during his first term between March 20, 1972, and December 31, 1977, and for 679 days during his second term from February 28, 1978, to January 7, 1980.
