Daughter and son sentenced to death for killing their father over pension money
Malkajgiri District Court delivers sensational verdict; mother sentenced to life imprisonment for abetting the crime
Hyderabad: Kishan and Prafulla brutally murdered their father, retired railway employee Maruti Sutar (70), in Moula-Ali on August 16, 2019.
To secure his pension and bank savings, the family members mixed dried datura (thorn apple) flowers and pods into his food.
After he lost consciousness, the son and daughter hacked his body into pieces and attempted to dispose of the remains in a bucket; the mother, Gangabai, assisted them in the act.
They kept the body parts inside the house for two days due to an auspicious event at a neighbor's home; however, the foul odor led to the son, daughter, and wife being caught by the police.
