Tension Erupts in Hyderabad Over Instagram story; Protesters Demand Action

Hyderabad witnessed heightened tensions late Sunday night when a group of youth gathered outside the Rein Bazar Police Station to protest against a social media post by a boy named Kishan Kumar. The protesters, primarily from the Muslim community, were angered by an Instagram story allegedly posted by Kumar, which they claim was offensive towards their community.

The demonstrators called on local authorities to immediately register an FIR against Kishan Kumar and arrest him.

DCP of the South Zone, Sneha Mehra, addressed the media, stating that the police are actively searching for the accused and assured the public that prompt action would be taken. She further clarified that some rumors had led to misunderstandings between the two communities, but assured that the city police had the situation under control.

“The police department is committed to maintaining peace and resolving the issue swiftly,” Mehra added, urging citizens not to be swayed by misinformation.

Major Debate on Musi River Revamp and HYDRA Project Scheduled in Assembly

The State Government is planning to hold a special session of the State Assembly towards the end of October. The main purpose of this session will be to discuss important city development projects, such as the Musi riverfront development and the HYDRA (Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Monitoring and Protection) project. Other topics include the fourth city development plan and a comprehensive sewerage master plan. These efforts aim to make Hyderabad a better place to live and attract more investments.

The government believes that this discussion is necessary due to recent criticism from the opposition. By holding the debate, they hope to clear up any doubts the opposition may have created in the minds of the public.
