In a tragic incident in Cachar district, a 20-year-old youth, Biswajit Shuklabaidya, lost his life after being electrocuted while repairing a refrigerator on Saturday evening.

A resident of Joypur Part 1, Biswajit had gone to the residence of Munni Dhobi in Rajabazar, Joypur, to fix a malfunctioning appliance when he suffered a fatal electric shock. He collapsed on the spot, and although locals immediately rushed him to the Joypur Primary Health Centre, doctors declared him brought dead.

Biswajit was well-known in the area for his skills as an electrician and regularly helped families with electrical repairs. His untimely demise has left the Joypur community in mourning, with many recalling his dedication and helpful nature.

Following the incident, Joypur police took custody of the body and sent it for post-mortem at Silchar Medical College and Hospital. The body was handed over to the family on Sunday after the completion of legal formalities.
