Want to eat healthy and yummy? โ˜˜
Here is classic dal recipe, one of the most commonly eaten dish in India ๐Ÿฒ
Ingredients:
๐Ÿ”น1ยพ cups water
๐Ÿ”ธยพ cup lentils, rinsed and drained
๐Ÿ”นยฝ cup chopped carrots
๐Ÿ”ธยฝ cup chopped onion
๐Ÿ”นโ…“ cup chopped celery
๐Ÿ”ธ2 teaspoons curry powder
๐Ÿ”นยฝ teaspoon grated fresh ginger
๐Ÿ”ธโ…› teaspoon ground ginger
๐Ÿ”น1 small clove garlic, minced
๐Ÿ”ธยผ teaspoon salt
๐Ÿ”นยฝ cup plain low-fat yogurt
๐Ÿ”ธยฝ cup chopped tomato
๐Ÿ”น1 tablespoon snipped fresh parsley or cilantro
How to cook:
๐Ÿ”ปIn a medium saucepan, combine water, lentils, carrots, onion, celery, curry powder, fresh ginger, ground ginger, garlic and salt. Bring to boiling; reduce heat. Simmer, covered, for 20 to 25 minutes or until lentils are tender and liquid is absorbed.
๐Ÿ”ปIn a small bowl, stir together yogurt, tomato and parsley (or cilantro). Serve with the lentil mixture.
