A studio visit rooted in 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻 𝗱𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘂𝗲, 𝗰𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗲𝘅𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲, and 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀, reflecting on the importance of building 𝗮 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗮𝗴𝗲 and creating work with 𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝘁𝘆 and 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗱𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗵.

𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝘆, 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘁𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗮 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗰𝘁 𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲.

The discussion also explored 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝗴𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗽𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲: 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆, and 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 and 𝗲𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗻𝘁, while staying true to one’s own instincts rather than trends.

Alongside thoughtful exchanges and diverse practices, the studio created a warm and welcoming environment, making it inspiring to witness artists in the early stages of their journeys.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗸𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗱𝗲𝗮𝗱. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘀𝗻'𝘁.

Parul Sharma has been with Art Incept since 2021. She has never once tried to make the city beautiful. In 2022, at the India Art Fair, she showed a work 11.5 by 10 feet — expressive, dense, visually arresting.

People used it as the selfie point of the fair. What drew them in was beauty. What stayed with them was the weight of it. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗲 𝗶𝘁 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹𝘀, 𝗱𝗿𝗮𝘄𝗻 𝗯𝘆 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗶𝘁.

In 2023, she did something harder. She stopped drawing the whole city and started drawing only what she could see of it — 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗽𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗼𝘄𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝗼 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗸𝘆 𝗵𝗮𝗱 𝗻𝗼 𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺. The works became minimal because the light was minimal.
By 2025, she had moved from the window to the street — the narrow sliver of sky visible while walking through Delhi. More space. Barely.

In 2026, the air itself became the medium. Brick dust, charcoal, iron wire. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁. 𝗜𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗵.

Art Incept was founded to find artists asking questions the world hasn't caught up to yet — and to stay with them long enough for the depth of their practice to become undeniable. Parul is five years into that conversation.

Stitched from fragments of memory, 𝙌𝙪𝙞𝙡𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝙈𝙚𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙨 draws from the quiet legacy of village 𝗸𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗱𝗶 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀, where fabric, time, and emotion intertwine.

𝗘𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗳𝗼𝗹𝗸 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲, 𝗻𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲, and 𝗶𝗻𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗰𝗿𝗮𝗳𝘁 come together, shaping a tender space where remembrance is carefully pieced into the present.

In this piece by Ram Dongre, the surface carries a quiet, 𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱, 𝘁𝗲𝘅𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗱, and 𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗮 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗮𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗰. Forms appear patched together, as if sewn from recollections, where each mark echoes the intimacy of handwork.
