On December 4th, 2024, the Retailia Club of BIMTECH spiced up the Movie Night organized by the E-Cell with our very own Grub Hub food stall! From Cheesy Nachos to Strawberries dipped in Chocolate and Hot Chocolate, we served the perfect snacks to over 250 visitors. 🍫☕

But it wasn’t just about food—it was about creating a vibrant space for students, faculty, and staff to connect and enjoy a delightful evening. This initiative highlighted Retailia’s creativity, teamwork, and commitment to enhancing experiences.

The Retail Management Program at Birla Institute of Management Technology (BIMTECH) was honored to participate in the Manning Modern Retail (MMR) 2024 event on September 19th, held at The Westin Mumbai Garden City. Organized by the Retailers Association of India (RAI), BIMTECH's academic partner, this year’s theme was “Evolve, Elevate, and Engage.”

The event featured engaging panel discussions on critical topics in the retail industry, including:

Evolve: Talent Pipelines - Nurturing Tomorrow’s Retail Leaders with industry experts like Asim Jagdale (Arvind Fashions), Chitra D Ram (Yum! Restaurants International), G.R Venkatesh (Reliance Retail), Harsh Aparanji (Landmark Group), and Nandini Mehta (Metro Brands Limited).

Cloud-based Compliance Management Systems and their Importance to the Retail Industry with speakers such as Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Chauhan (Pepe Jeans India), Farzeen Khan (Being Human Clothing), Mandavi Singh (DIT), and Prashant Bhokil (Finquest).

We are deeply grateful for the opportunity to gain insights into the evolving challenges of retail and be inspired to shape the future of the industry!

We had an incredible learning experience with Mr. Ajay Seth, Divisional Director - Customer Services at Panasonic, who delivered two insightful guest lectures on "Measuring and Managing Brand Equity at Panasonic" and "Pricing and Other Marketing Mix Elements for Building Brand Equity" on September 8th, 2024.

Throughout the sessions, we dove into essential marketing topics like the 8 levels of demand, the strategic management process, setting the final price, and the product life cycle. Mr. Seth guided us through the intricacies of building brand equity, the importance of a brand, and the brand resonance pyramid. He also shed light on channel pricing strategies, giving us real-world insights from his extensive experience at Panasonic.

What made the lectures even more engaging were the interactive quizzes that tested our knowledge and kept the energy high. It was an enriching and practical learning experience, and we’re excited to apply these concepts in our future careers!
